Baptism is such a special moment in a Christian’s life. This is the Christian rite of conversion and adoption, with the use of water, in Christianity. The choice to baptize your child is an important occasion and celebration! There are several things you can do to make this wonderful day even more beautiful. Here’s what I recommend and see what I did for our daughter’s baptism and party.
Invite the people you love to witness this beautiful occasion. They will want to be there to encourage and support your child’s relationship with the Lord. In the invitation do not forget to note where and when the baptism will take place and whether you plan to organize a celebration after that and the details of it.

Baptismal dresses are part of a tradition that spans centuries. The baptismal dress is a symbol of purity and the invocation of Christ’s sacrifice. They are traditional and tasteful to capture the innocence of a young person who is welcome in the faith. If your family members are Christians, you may even have a generational dress that your child could wear to make the day even more special. If you are not doing this or are looking for something new for your child to wear in their day, there are many beautiful options. I chose the one from Forever More Inc!

This dress is knitted lace with cotton lining in antique white. This is a zipper at the back with a satin ribbon tie and includes a bonnet. She looked so precious in her dress and received many compliments!
The light is an important symbol in Christianity. The baptismal candle represents the movement from death to life in Christ, also known as the “light of the world.” You may want to choose a personalized candle to keep to remember this special day.

This is the candle we chose from Earth Glo Design for our daughter’s baptism. This candle is 9 ″ x 3 ″ and is laser printed with gold foil. The quality is impeccable and I like how you can customize your candle and choose the font you prefer. So stunning!
4. Festive dress and colorful crown
After the baptism ceremony, you will probably want to change your child into a different outfit. I changed my daughter into a dress that she could wear comfortably in the restaurant. I liked this one dressed by Smocked Auctions. I combined it with this beautiful crown of flower blush from Flowers by Sveta.

This precious flower crown is made of paper roses, apple blossoms, painted flowers and artificial greenery. I really like how she will never grow old and she is a memory of our daughter. She may even wear it again in the future due to its flexible design. It is adjustable with ribbons and is ideal for children from 3 months to 5 years!
What is a party without balloons ?! I love a good garland of balloons or big balloons for a party statement. They really bring the festive atmosphere to every night! Since we were going to a restaurant after our daughter’s baptism to celebrate, I didn’t need a ton of balloons, but I wanted to have a few to set a happy tone. There’s a great company that serves the Houston, Texas area called Big Ass Balloons. They do some amazing work. We even used them to announce the pregnancy with our daughter!

For the reception after the baptism of our daughter we chose three BAB. We made two solid white BABs with custom letters. One said, “Lily’s baptism in October 2021.” The other BAB said “We love you, Lily” with hearts, and on the back it said “Child of God” with a cross. They were painted in rose gold and had 5-foot ombre tassels. The tassels were covered in terracotta, blush pink ivory, white and metallic rose gold. The third balloon was a BAB confetti, which was a transparent balloon filled with the same colors as the tassels. They all looked fantastic and were a big hit!

They do such a beautiful job that I made the designers choose the colors for our balloons. I trust them completely because everything they do is great! I highly recommend finding a high quality and reliable balloon company like Big Ass Balloons for your next celebration!
You can never go wrong with flowers for your party decor. They are a key element that I like to include in every party I lead. Our baptism was no exception. In my opinion, personalized floral arrangements that match your party decor really enhance the atmosphere. And when choosing what type of floral arrangements you need, think about where they will be placed and how much they are needed. You will want your guests to be able to talk to each other without being disturbed. And if you have a long table like the one we had, a few smaller arrangements are the perfect thing!

If you still do not have a florist that you know does a beautiful job, ask and see which one is recommended. If you live in the Houston, Texas area, someone I love who makes amazing designs is Arte & Design. Diana is incredibly talented. She made the sweet flowers on our Galentine brunch and even made flowers for my mother’s wedding!
7. Guest book
If you are as sentimental as I am, you will want to remember the people who came to your child’s baptism. The guest book should not be so traditional. Think outside the box! I decided to use my daughter’s Bible, given to her by my godparents, and used it as her guest book.

For this idea, I printed out a sign that asked our guests to highlight their favorite Bible verses and sign their names next to them in her Bible. I thought this was the perfect way to remember the people who supported her on the day of her baptism.
8. Party services
Every celebration should leave something for the guests to take home as a small gift. Something I thought was especially perfect as a baptism party service was these pocket beads. You can customize them with your child’s name and baptism date to remember your guests!

10. Family clothes
The whole family has to dress for this big occasion. If you choose your child to wear lace, maybe the mother can wear lace too! It was our daughter’s baptism, so we all wore pink to support our princess.

Your child’s baptism will surely be a wonderful day. I hope these ideas inspire you as you plan your little child’s big day with God.
